How competitor renewal prospecting works
Name the competitors you want to displace
Type up to five competitors' products for the signal.
Coolie finds who adopted them about a year ago
Coolie looks for companies that started using one of those products 9 to 12 months ago and still use it today, and dates the adoption.
It keeps the companies that fit your ICP
Your ideal customer profile (industry, company size, location) filters the companies before anyone is contacted.
It finds the decision makers
At each company, Coolie looks for the people whose job titles match your ICP, and gives each lead a score.
It researches the leads you pick
For the leads you choose, Coolie writes a research brief (the company's news, the person, the reason to write now) and a personalized email and LinkedIn sequence.
It writes and sends from your own accounts
Email and LinkedIn steps go out from your own mailbox and LinkedIn account, spread over your working hours. You approve each message, or let the agent run on autopilot.
Why 9 to 12 months after adoption
A company that adopted a product on a yearly contract reviews it before the year ends: what it pays, what it uses, what else is out there. Starting the conversation in the three months before that review puts you in the comparison.
Coolie infers the window from the adoption date. It does not see the contract, so a multi-year or monthly plan will not fit it: treat the signal as a reason to start a conversation, not as a deadline.
What you get for each account
- The company, the competitor's product it uses and when it adopted it.
- The decision makers whose job titles match your ICP.
- A score that ranks the lead against your ICP.
- For the leads you pick, a research brief and a personalized email and LinkedIn sequence.
Renewal or churn?
Renewal reaches companies before they decide. Competitor Churn reaches the ones that already left. Running both covers the competitor's customers before and after the decision.
Example (fictional)
You sell a recruiting platform and name the competitor you most often replace.
Coolie finds Ferro Health, 450 employees in Spain, which adopted that product eleven months ago and still uses it.
It finds Ferro's Head of Talent Acquisition, scores the lead, and once you pick it drafts an email that offers a side-by-side review before the renewal.
Every company and person in this example is invented.
Frequently asked questions
How can I find companies whose contract with a competitor is up for renewal in the next 90 days?
Coolie's Competitor Renewal signal finds companies that adopted a competitor's product 9 to 12 months ago and still use it, so a yearly contract is likely to renew in the next three months. Coolie then finds the decision makers who fit your ICP and contacts them by email and LinkedIn.
Does Coolie know the exact renewal date?
No. Coolie infers the renewal window from the date the company adopted the product. It does not see the contract, so multi-year or monthly plans can fall outside the window.
Why contact a company before its renewal?
Before a renewal, teams review what they pay for and compare options. Reaching them a few weeks earlier puts you in that comparison instead of after it.
How many competitors can I track?
Up to five per signal and per agent.
How much does it cost?
Coolie starts with a 7-day free trial; after it, the Starter plan is $123 a month. The pricing page lists what each plan includes and what credits pay for.
